Two Bathrooms Combined Into One Family Bathroom – HP3

This renovation combined two separate bathrooms into one larger family bathroom by removing the dividing partition wall and reworking the layout. We completed a full strip-out, reconfigured plumbing and electrics, repaired ceilings and coving, and tiled wet zones plus the full floor. The result is a more practical space with upgraded services, better ventilation, and a durable, watertight finish.

01 — THE CHALLENGE

The Challenge

This renovation combined two separate bathrooms into one larger family bathroom by removing the dividing partition wall and reworking the layout, overcoming the challenges of altering doors, services and finishes across two rooms.

We completed a full strip-out, reconfigured plumbing and electrics, repaired ceilings and coving, and tiled wet zones plus the full floor. The result is a more practical space with upgraded services, improved ventilation, and a durable, watertight finish.

02 — OUR APPROACH

Our Approach

Strip-Out & Wall Removal

We stripped out both rooms and isolated services to create safe access for structural changes. The dividing partition wall was removed and openings rationalised, forming one larger footprint ready for the new layout.

Plumbing & Electrical

We re-routed hot, cold and waste pipework for the bath, shower, basin and concealed-cistern WC, then pressure-tested all connections. Electrical points were relocated, with new ventilation and lighting installed and certified to current regulations.

Repairs & Prep

With services in place, we repaired the ceiling and coving affected by demolition and made good all altered wall areas. Heating pipework was repositioned for the new towel rail location and substrates were levelled to accept finishes.

Tiling & Waterproofing

We tiled the full floor and completed wall tiling to the bath and vanity wet zones, including the window sill and trims. All junctions were grouted and sealed, then the screen, vanity and fittings were installed and commissioned.

03 — THE RESULT

The Result

By removing the dividing partition wall, we created a single, larger family bathroom with a cleaner, more usable layout. Plumbing and electrics were reworked to suit the new bath, shower, basin and concealed-cistern WC, then fully tested for performance. Wet zones were tiled and sealed, the full floor tiled for durability, and ventilation upgraded—delivering a practical, watertight finish built for everyday use.
